“The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried up at once; a shower is always falling; vapor ever rising.
Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each
in its turn, as the round earth rolls.”
John Muir, Naturalist
Poetic words written by John Muir (1838-1914), founder of the Sierra Club and an advocate of the preservation of wilderness through a national parks system.
Muir Lake is a little piece of heaven directly off Soundside Drive. “Nothing motorized” allowed on Muir Lake, but canoes, row boats, etc. are acceptable. Good fishing in season, but please “Catch and Release”.
“The winds blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop
off like autumn leaves.”
John Muir, Naturalist
Enjoy the sunrise and a little piece of Soundside heaven ------ but leave only footprints.
